Diet-To-Go has been since the early 1990s and provides convenient, healthy and delicious meals for busy individuals who want to lose weight or simply maintain a healthy weight and lifestyle.   They have commercial kitchens in Virginia & San Francisco. Diet-To-Go uses only quality ingredients and their menus meet or exceed the dietary guidelines of all major health advocacy organizations. Devon Fitness Club is a convenient pick-up location for your meals that are always prepared and delivered fresh, never frozen.

Traditional and Vegetarian Low-fat Meal Plans:

Meal plans are low in fat, calories, cholesterol, and sodium
Follow the guidelines of the American Heart Association, American Cancer Society, American Diabetes Association, and American Dietetic Association

Nutritionally based on 50% carbs, 25% protein, & 25% fat
Available in 2 portion sizes - 1200 and 1600 Calories per day

Traditional menu contains poultry, seafood, and vegetarian dishes - no red meat
Vegetarian menu is “ovo-lacto” meaning contains eggs and dairy. Customers may request to add seafood or poultry.

We recommended that customers add 2 glasses of skim milk per day (calories not included in daily food calories from DTG) or take a calcium supplement.
Good ideas for snacks: fresh fruits and vegetables such as apples, grapes, strawberries, baby carrots, celery sticks…

 

Low Carb Meal Plan:
Atkin’s-type program meaning to contains an average of 30 net grams carbs per day
Average 1200 calories per day
Higher in protein, fat, cholesterol, and sodium
Contain red meat, pork, poultry, and seafood
Good ideas for snacks: string cheese, sliced or cubed cheddar cheese, eggs in any form (hard boiled, deviled, scrambled)
Customers should not add fruit, juice, yogurt, bread, pasta, or rice or anything containing carbs or sugar

Meal Plan Facts: 
We purchase our fruits and vegetables from local distributors
Most breads are whole wheat and most pasta is whole grain
We have removed most items containing hydrogenated oils and high fructose corn syrup.
We do not have any added MSG.
If someone has a food allergy…we are not able to guarantee it (just like with peanuts for example) as our suppliers could change ingredients without notifying us. Just like with other items it’s important to find out if it’s an actual allergy. If they are sensitive to it, or are simply trying to avoid it…this should not be a problem for them.
We do not use any artificial sweeteners such as aspartame in our food - We use all natural sweeteners such as organic blue agave, honey, or juice instead.
We use Neufchatel cheese instead of cream cheese which is 33% lower in fat 

 

Measure your Daily Calorie needs with MetaCheck:
A new test (a 15-minute breathalyzer test) that can measure your resting metabolic rate!
This test is three-fold:
First it measures your “resting metabolic rate” - exactly how many calories you require each day to maintain your normal body functions (brain, cardio-pulmonary, kidney functions etc).   How many calories would you need to maintain these bodily functions if
you were to lie in bed all day?

Understanding your personal caloric needs (these three components) is the key to successful weight loss, maintenance or gain of lean body mass.  Metabolisms vary significantly from person to person and this machine allows for a state-of-the-art assessment that is equivalent to what you would receive in a hospital setting.  With this individualized information, I can tailor a food/nutrient/caloric plan that is right for you and your body to achieve your goal and enhance your natural metabolism.  If you are not feeding yourself correctly, you actually could be fooling your body into slowing it’s metabolism to survive!

If you have already had your metabolic rate tested and have been on a diet for 6-8 weeks it is essential to re-test it in order to assure that your metabolism is not dropping significantly. 

This metabolic test is also an excellent way to monitor how your training is affecting your metabolic rate and how to adjust your training to meet your personal goals.  As you build lean muscle, your will increase your metabolism.  It takes more energy (calories) to maintain muscle than to maintain fat, so through strength-training, you will increase lean muscle, thereby increase your metabolism and you will burn more calories throughout the day resulting additional fat loss!
